I know Places we can go

Schon in 3 Minuten. Puhh.

After six stress-free days in Amsterdam, Frithjof and I took the train on a monday and headed off towards home, whereas our nervs got strained enormously. Within a stone's throw of the german border we had to change the train in Venlo. We had 20 minutes left to make the connection, so we went outside to get some fresh air.
Back at the platform a train was waiting, declared to be ours. So we went in and got the very first places. But when we saw the display inside the train we looked at each other puzzled. It didn't show "Hagen Hauptbahnhof" but rather "Den Haag". We were on the wrong train and got aware of it right after the doors have closed, then the train left the station. Damn. In only 15 minutes we were supposed to depart in Venlo.
Fortunately we stopped right at the next train station. So we got out to take a cab back but the station was so tiny, there was no way to find a driver far and wide. So we had a look at the timetable to check for the next train back to Venlo. In three minutes, already. Uff. That was going to be tight but we still had a small chance left to get our connecting.
Arriving in Venlo we saw the train to Düsseldorf waiting at the platform. As soon as the doors opened we ran fully packed with Chocomel and Hageslaag up and down stairs, through tunnels and past gazing travelers until we jumped into the wagon at the last minute. In the end everything turned out fine, but for a short moment I've already seen myself hours later, waiting at the station of Venlo, carrying a new bought, overpriced ticket in my pocket.

Here in Mainz autumn arrived and I currently don't feel badly bothered by wanderlust, which is remarkable. Actually I'm looking forward to November this year. Cozy pizza and cinema evenings with friends, Christmas markets opening up and the beginning of the mulled wine season.

Tut mir leid.

    Alles Liebe
