Memories

Two years ago some fellow students and me traveled to Kenya and Tanzania. Our companion introduced us to his family and we also danced to African sounds together. Long distances we covered in Jeeps. For shorter routes we took the matatus, flossy vans, one of the main means of transport in Kenya which roar through the countryside. We camped in the wilderness of the Serengeti, the laughing of hyenas in the background. We drove through the savanna for only two days, however I think so many times of that endlessly silent place when the hectic daily routine in Germany aggrieves me.
